The Festival truly comes to life when street painters use more than 5,400 pieces of chalk pastels to paint masterpieces in the middle of Main Street. The street paintings will be available for viewing for 72 hours before they are washed away at the close of the event.
Among other attractions, the Festival of the Arts will showcase temporary artworks such as sculpture, pottery, mosaics, woodworking, and installations. A Festival Gallery on Canvas Gallery will display original paintings and photography from Santa Clarita students and professional artists.
Guests can relax and watch short films, compliments of Generation Arts, and enjoy perfomances of live theatre, poetry and literary readings, spectacular aerial acrobatics, drumlines and dance troupes will round out the afternoon.
In addition to viewing the creation and display of countless pieces of art, visitors will also have the chance to interact with artists at the Festival and learn the history of the displayed art pieces directly from their creators.
Various ethnic restaurants will offer their specialties and grills will be cooking tempting treats at both ends of the festival.
