Holiday fundraiser to support Boys and Girls Club.

Santa Clarita residents will get a chance to stroll through a festive forest of elaborately decorated holiday trees this weekend, as the Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley is once again hosting its three-day Festival of Trees fundraiser November 20-22.

Each tree will be for sale, and some will come as themed packages complete with gifts or tickets to sporting or entertainment events. Wreaths, garlands, centerpieces, and decorative tabletop trees will also be sold as well as other holiday décor and gifts.

Since 2003, this event has served as an unofficial holiday season kickoff. Carolers, magicians, and musical and dance acts will perform throughout the festival, and the traditional gingerbread village will be on display as well. The Boys and Girls Club has even arranged for a visit from Saint Nick, who will stop by for pictures with the kids. Professional pictures can be purchased for $5, or snap your own for a suggested $2 donation.

Select trees will be up for live auction at the “Magic of the Lights” gala Saturday night. Following a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, guests will enjoy first-class entertainment and get a chance to bid on their favorites. Tickets are $75 per person, and tables for eight can be reserved for $1,000.

The festival takes place at 21119 Centre Pointe Parkway in Canyon Country, and will be open 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday; and 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday.
