Seminars on managing money offered through Single Mothers Outreach.
Single parents in the Santa Clarita Valley are invited to
take part in a series of financial planning seminars sponsored by Single
Mothers Outreach. Two free introductory seminars are scheduled Jan. 31 and Feb.
6 to familiarize people with the series, which will be offered at a reduced
rate to participants through Single Mothers Outreach.
This program is for single parents only.
University is a program is made up
of 13 life-changing lessons taught by nationally syndicated radio and talk show host Dave Ramsey.
All lessons are taught by Dave in a fun and entertaining way. After each lesson
the group meets to help each other plan budgets, discuss successes and
temptations, and support each other in their journey to beat debt and build
wealth. Topics covered include:
- Saving for emergencies
- Relationship and money issues
- Buying big bargains
- Getting out of debt
- Understanding investments
- Understanding insurance
- Retirement and college planning
- Buyer beware
- Real estate mortgages
- Careers and extra jobs
- Collection practices & credit bureaus
- The blessing of giving
This class is recommended for people who want to …
…learn practical steps that they can implement immediately on how
to get out of debt and stay out.
…learn practical steps they can take to teach children the value of
money, and to be financially responsible, no matter their age.
Equally valuable is the opportunity to meet other parents with whom you can
relate and share your struggles and victories.
Preview classes are scheduled Saturday, January 31 from 10-11 a.m. and Friday, February 6, from 7-8 p.m. Classes will be held at
the Single Mothers Outreach office, 24271 Main
Street, 2nd floor (enter from rear of building) in Newhall. The seminars will begin Saturday, February 21 and be held from 10 a.m. to noon at a location
to be announced. Free childcare will be provided.
