Many fun events are planned for Fourth of July in Santa Clarita.
Don't know exactly what to do for Fourth of July? This year, the SCV is packed with events for the family. In the morning, at 7:00, the Santa Clarita Rotary Club is holding a Pancake Breakfast. Later on, at 9:45, the annual Fourth of July Parade will make its way through Newhall on San Fernando Road. Lastly, of course, there are numerous firework shows for the evening. Even though the Fourth of July is a time to celebrate, remember to do so responsibly. Fireworks are illegal in Santa Clarita, and there is a very high fire hazard. Last winter was a dry one, and the fire season has already started. Every time someone lights a firework, they put Santa Clarita in danger.
There will be many Santa Clarita Deputies on patrol specifically looking for illegal firework action. If caught with a firework, it will be confiscated, and the owner will be fined. If the firework is explosive, the consequences are far worse.
By following the law, and not lighting a firework, Santa Clarita can enjoy a happy and, more importantly, safe Fourth of July.
