Fire Department Makes Quick Work Of Wash Fire

Firefighters made quick work of a small fire in the wash off of McBean Parkway, near Bridgeport Marketplace on Sunday.

A fire of less than a quarter-acre was noticed around 3 p.m., and fire officials had declared the incident in the “mop-up” phase by 4 p.m.

Smoke lingered in the area for more than an hour.

No injuries were reported, nor was there any damage, according to officials.
