Do not be alarmed if you see smoke in the air in and around Castaic today and tomorrow (Friday).  The controlled burns will take place at the Pitchess Detention Center/Wayside facility, off of the I-5 Freeway and Hasley Canyon Rd between 9 a.m. and noon today and tomorrow….

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, Air & Wildland Divison/Camps Section, is conducting fire training today in what is planned to be no more than 10 acres.

In an unrelated story, two small brush fires broke out Wednesday.  The first burned about 4 acres and began at about 6 p.m. near Seco Canyon and Singing Wood near the aqueduct, and 20 acres were burned in a fire shortly thereafter near the I-5 and Lake Hughes Road.
