Agency asks public to be flexible with power usage
The California Independent System Operator (CAISO), charged with managing the electricity grid in California, has issued a Flex Alert for Thursday, July 5th, 2007 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
[view:node_ad=5]Due to the current hot weather, the demand for electricity is approaching capacity. As a result, state officials have called a Flex Alert.So what's the best way to help during these energy shortages? Try the following:
- Turn off all unnecessary lights
- If you must use an air conditioner, turn it up to 78 degrees or higher
- Postpone using major appliances until after 7 PM
