Five horses are among the animals up for adoption at the Castaic Animal Shelter on Charlie Canyon Road.
The five were confiscated from a location out of the Santa Clarita Valley area, and need new homes and some tender loving care to bring them back to perfect health.
The horses have been seen by veterinarians and the farrier, who were concerned at the animals’ underweight condition (each came to the shelter about 100 pounds light).
