Cheri Fleming has been elected to serve a one-year term as secretary/treasurer of the board of directors for Soroptimist, an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.
As secretary/treasurer, Fleming will participate in strategic planning and program development for the organization. She will also help Soroptimist meet the goals of its Renaissance Campaign 2011: Strategies for Progress—a plan to strengthen the organization’s brand.

Fleming is a member of Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley, one of 3,100 Soroptimist clubs that exist to improve conditions for local women and girls. A member since 1999, Fleming has held several leadership positions, including region governor, governor-elect, district director and club president.
A dealer principal, Fleming is employed by Valencia Acura. She attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where she studied education and business. In addition to her Soroptimist activities, Fleming serves as the director of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation, Child and Family Center Foundation, and the American Cancer Society Unit Council.
