shrimppimpThe Santa Clarita Food Truck Festival, a benefit for the SCV Food Pantry that was set for Saturday, has been postponed due to expected rains this weekend.

“Due to the expected rain this weekend, the Santa Clarita Food Fest is postponed until next Saturday, the 26th,” the message read. “The location and times are the same however, and the event website will soon reflect the changes.

“If you can still attend next weekend, hold on to your tickets and they’ll still be valid then.  If you can’t or wish to receive a refund, just reply back to this email and we’ll take care of that for you. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we’re sure you’ll enjoy a postponed day in the sun more than a cold, rainy event.”

Along with a percentage of the ticket proceeds, the SCV Food Pantry will accept donations of nonperishable food at the event. In particular, the Pantry is in need of peanut butter for distribution to its clients.

More than 40 food trucks are scheduled to participate in this urban “picnic.” For a list, click here.

Rain is expected Friday and Saturday, clearing Sunday, but coming back Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week, with the sun coming back in full force Friday. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 50s and low 60s.
