District Attorney says there is not enough evidence to charge Lisa Visin.
[view:node_ad=5]One of the suspects arrested in Santa Clarita over the weekend on allegations she was a part of an auto theft ring will not be charged, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Spokesperson Sandy Gibbons. Gibbons cited a lack of evidence that 40 year old Lisa Visin’s activities rose to a criminal level.
Visin was originally taken into custody over the weekend after she arrived with two other men who were trying to purchase a vehicle from Parkway Cadillac using a bad check.
General Sales Manager Michael Roth grew suspicious after one suspect, Dunbar Tuason initially tried to negotiate a deal on the car with a 3rd party check. After informing our local Sheriff’s Business Liaison Sgt. A.J. Rotella, it was discovered that the suspect had passed bad checks for cars in at least 10 other dealerships across southern California.
When the suspect was lured back to the dealership for “final negotiations,” he was taken into custody along with Samuel Atkinson and Visin.
Currently, Atkinson and Tuason are still behind bars, however Visin has been released. In the future, if new evidence comes to light that could implicate Visin, the District Attorney will evaluate it, and consider if charges can be filed.
