The City’s contractor has officially begun foundation work on the Old Town Nehwall Library. Bookworms and architecture/design enthusiasts can watch the action in real time through the City’s “library cam.” The City anticipates the library, located on the corner of Railroad and Lyons avenues, will open by mid-2012.
In December, the City Council approved a $12.86-million contract with Tobo Construction, Inc. to build the library. When finished, the 30,000-square foot, two-story library will be part of the Santa Clarita Public Library system, which begins operation on July 1.
