Public to learn ways to “Care for Your Heart”
In recognition of Heart Health Month, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital presents a free “Care for Your Heart” Health Fair to the public on Friday, June 8, from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Activities Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway in Canyon Country.
[view:node_ad=5] Fair participants will receive a Heart Health Passport and can take part in a series of free health screenings that include height and weight measurement, blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol testing, body fat analysis/body mass index, as well as pulse oximetry and carbon monoxide measurement for smokers.In addition to the health screenings, fair participants can speak with on-site physicians and receive a heart health summary, get healthy eating tips from dieticians, and learn about smoking cessation, sleep disorders, sudden cardiac arrest and cardiac catheterization. Healthy refreshments will be available.
The Santa Clarita Activities Center is located on Centre Pointe Parkway, just east of Golden Valley Road, behind the Aquatics Center. The “Care for Your Heart” Health Fair takes place in the Center’s Santa Clarita Rooms.
