SBDC Offers Free Workshop to Businesses Affected by Sayre Fire

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) affiliated with College of the Canyons is attempting to assist business owners affected by the 2008 Sayre Fire by offering a free workshop entitled ‘The Small Business Toolbox.’

As a part of the workshop, SBDC business advisors Tora Brown and Connie Sparks will discuss the tools necessary for small business owners to take their companies to the next level, focusing on topics such as determining business needs, attracting new clients, and accessing capital.

“We understand the severe devastation that this fire caused to businesses in our service area, and we are here to help,” explained Steve Tannehill, Director of the SBDC hosted by College of the Canyons.

The workshop will run from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, in room 107 of the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center.

If you are interested in attending ‘The Small Business Toolbox’ call (661) 362-5900 or visit www.cocsbdc.com.

The Sayer Fire burned over 11,000 acres near Sylmar, Sand Canyon, and Granada Hills in November of 2008.
