FREE PARKING FOR SHOPPERS AVAILABLE IN NEWHALL

The City of Santa Clarita would like to remind residents of Santa Clarita that free parking is available to the public at the Newhall Parking lot during daytime hours.

Located at 24222 San Fernando Road, the Newhall lot is open daily, except for all day Thursdays, to accommodate the Farmer’s Market. The lot is not available for overnight parking.

Residents of Santa Clarita have often complained that there is not enough parking in the Newhall area. This free lot provides local area shoppers and customers with convenient access to local Newhall businesses. The lot is also adjacent to the Newhall Metrolink station, making it an excellent parking alternative for commuters. There are currently spaces for fifty vehicles and locals are encouraged to utilize the lot during daytime hours.

“When people park in the free Newhall lot during the day, they don’t have to worry about being issued a parking citation,” said City Economic Development Assistant, Andree Walper. “This lot provides residents with easy access to Downtown Newhall and to the Metrolink as we continue to make improvements to the area.”

For more information on the parking available in Newhall or about the Newhall Redevelopment Project, please contact the City of Santa Clarita Economic Development Division at 661-255-4347.
