Freeze The Disease Hockey Game Will Aid Cystic Fibrosis Research

FreezeTheDiseaseCystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects 30,000 children and adults in the United States today. On August 22, the Freeze the Disease Foundation will hold a hockey game event to not only raise awareness about Cystic Fibrosis, but also raise funds to help find a cure.

The Freeze the Disease Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support, educate, and assist in the development of a cure for cystic fibrosis. The Foundation also makes it their goal to improve the quality of life for victims of cystic fibrosis and raise awareness.

Stuart McDougal, co-chairman of the Freeze the Disease Foundation explained that after a close friend’s daughter died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 17, he decided to dedicate a foundation to raising funds to find a cure.

“Both my wife and I got involved to get the awareness out and find a cure.” said McDougal.

The list of players that will come out to support this event include NHL alumni Randy Burridge, Jeff Conaway of “Grease” and “Taxi”, Red Wings player Brad Norton, actor and composer Alan Thicke, retired Kings player Marty McSorley, and many more.
