Fright Fest To Bring Out The Scream In Everyone

No, it’s not time for the Zombie March just yet (that’s on the 23rd, a fundraiser for the SCV Food Pantry), but you might scream anyway – because Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain launches tonight and will play weekends through Halloween itself.

For 12 terrifying days, the fun, family amusement park by day will change at sundown into a series of haunted mazes, roaming zombies, spooky shows and the scariest clowns on the planet.

In addition, for this month only, some of the monster coasters will run in the dark and the celebrated wooden coaster, Colossus, will run backwards.

Park officials have some reassurance for parents of little monsters: a trick or treat trail, Kid Scaryoke and the Looney Tunes Harvest Festival in Bugs Bunny World will round out the park’s activities.

This year’s Fright Fest features a new maze and scare zone, BITE II, where “sexy and sinister” werewolves are out for a bite in their nest of the undead and Camp Gonnagetcha, a new scare zone located in Rapids Camp. Hypnotists Mark Yuzuik and Suzy Haner will put park guests into compromising scenarios during their stage show in the Golden Bear Theater and Dr. Fright’s Roc Zombie, a Halloween-themed rock ‘n’ roll show will take place on the High Sierra Stage.

If you remember the steps to the “Thriller” dance, join in the fun at the Spooktacular Street Party and don’t miss the newest dance area for the dearly departed, The Six Foot Under Club near the main gate.

Of course, Fright Fest wouldn’t be complete without Heckles and Twitch, the infamously popular, irreverent and off-beat clowns, who will perform their crowd-pleasing brand of menacing dark humor three times a night in Gotham City’s backlot. Don’t miss the 300-plus Fright Fest actors roaming the park’s walkways and streets, transformed into ghouls, zombies, vampires and demons.

Back by popular demand are Lechter’s Slaughterhouse, Willoughby’s Haunted Mansion, Jokester’s Hideout in 3D, the Escape of the Zombies, Warehouse 13, The Asylum, City Under Siege and Exile Hill.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is located at 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway. For information call 661-255-4111 or visit
