Due to a major illness suffered by Mike Gadbury, this fundraiser is being held to help the Gadbury Family with medical expenses. All proceeds from La Rumba’s sales the evening of February 28, from 5pm-9pm will go to help Mike & Dee Gadbury.
Mike Gadbury has been involved with the Optimist Organization for over 25 years, giving his spare time to helping children in need. From working with blind kids, working with the LA County Sheriff’s Department and Sheriff Lee Baca to fundraising money in events such as the “The Family Walk for Hope” which helps very young children with cancer.
For Mike Gadbury, what started out as a routine surgery and was to be only a several day stay in the hospital, turned out to be a nightmare of three months in intensive care, two major surgeries, one being for colon cancer, along with having developed double pneumonia, several blood clots in the lung, kidney failure, heart problems and many other related problems.
To further complicate matters, his job due to the Federal Medical Leave Act will find him terminated and at age 60 that is a tough pill to swallow.
The Gadbury’s are facing a mountain of medical bills from the hospital and a very uncertain future. Your love and support will be deeply appreciated.
