A gang member released from jail yesterday went back into custody after beating up his brother’s girlfriend and firing a gun outside a residence on Chestnut Street in Newhall.
Filimon Ramirez, 22, was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he visited the woman and her daughter.
According to Sgt. Gary Parker, Ramirez pointed a handgun at the woman after assaulting and beating her, and then shot a round from the gun outside of the home in the 24000 block of Chestnut Street.
Ramirez’s prior arrest was in February for narcotics and gun charges. He is currently being held on suspicion of felony assault at the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
