Odor Is The Result of Earlier Gas Line Maintenance

At approximately 3:45 PM Monday afternoon, residents on Podd Court in Canyon Country noticed a strong odor of gas around the neighborhood and inside their homes. The natural gas odor was the result of maintenance work performed by the Gas Company. Workers released pressurized gas from lines about 30 minutes earlier along San Fernando Road causing a gas cloud to travel across the valley.  The Gas Company received 185 calls regarding the odor. To make sure the complaints were related to the gas line maintenance, technicians were dispatched to the area. Gas Co. personnel deemed all of the homes in the area safe.
