At the new district office, or online, a person can get information about whether they need to obtain a permit, and how they do that, or what tax rate to use, and a host of other useful information for business owners and operators.

The office is located at 25360 Magic Mountain Parkway, Suite 330. The phone number to the Santa Clarita district office for the Board of Equalization is 661-222-6000.

Residents are invited to take part in a ceremony to celebrate the pening Thursday at 10 a.m.

The Board of Equalization wants to make doing business in California as easy as possible, according to the board’s website.

The Taxpayer Service Center is expected to serve approximately 41,000 accounts.

The 22,005 square foot office features self-service computer kiosks that enable customers to conveniently register for a permit or license, file a return, and make a payment.

Some of the popular topics listed on the BOE website include: “latest sales and use tax rates,” all sales and use tax rates, sales and use tax electronic filing help, sales and use tax, online services login, file a return (for businesses) and online services.
