A Georgia man is behind bars for transporting marijuana after a traffic stop yesterday.
According to Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station, the man got the attention of deputies as he traveled through Castaic on the I-5 freeway.
When they stopped him, deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana and asked the man to step out of the car so they could conduct a search, which yielded three pounds of marijuana and an unloaded handgun in a case.
