Get To Know The Candidates: Bob Spierer

First of five interviews with City Council candidates.

Thursday afternoon, City Council candidate Bob Spierer was on AM 1220 discussing his background, some hot local issues, and why he is running for Santa Clarita City Council.

One of the hot button issues he spoke about was the proposed Henry Mayo Campus Expansion, most specifically how he would gauge the new information that comes out in the newly revised Environmental Impact Report.

“I think everybody on both sides of this issue not only agrees that the hospital expansion is necessary, but I also think they agree that some of the medical office buildings are necessary,” he said. “The real controversy seems to stem from medical office building three. I guess the real key when we see the revised Environmental Impact Report is how much additional traffic, how much additional modification/mitigation is going to be required by medical office building three in particular, and is the cost worth…you know…the building.”

Spierer went into greater detail about the Henry Mayo Expansion and other major challenges facing the City of Santa Clarita in the interview.
