City Council candidate Maria Gutzeit goes on-air with KHTS.

Friday afternoon, Maria Gutzeit was interviewed on KHTS as part of our “Get To Know the Candidates” series.

She spoke about her track record as a member of the Newhall County Water Board, and some of her ideas to make Santa Clarita a better place to live. One of the largest issues facing the City is traffic. Gutzeit told KHTS that there are several ideas she has to better this situation, one of which includes creating more local jobs.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t have to go to the Valley, or LA, or the West side for high paying jobs,” she said. “We’re really great at attracting the retail stores for the tax revenue, but I’d like to see some effort put into attracting corporate headquarters.”
