MTV’s Pimp My Ride vehicles on display at Valley Fair.
This year’s Valley Fair is in full swing at Saugus Speedway. The fair runs through Sunday, and comes with the usual attractions; carnival games, rides, livestock demonstrations and unique food.
However, this year’s fair has also brought in some new sights, including the MTV Pimp My Ride vehicles.
Pimp My Ride is a show where people are chosen to have their rundown cars fixed up in a creative way by Galpin Auto Sports in the San Fernando Valley.
One of those cars is called the Bio Rocket. The former 1965 Chevy Impala was transformed into an 800 horsepower behemoth, capable of doing 0 to 60mph in less than 4 seconds. That explains the “Rocket” part of the name.
But perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the car is environmentally friendly, accomplishing its mind blowing performance while running on bio-diesel.
Bio-diesel is a non-petroleum based fuel made in part from vegetable oil. It produces a much cleaner exhaust.
The eco-friendly theme carries on throughout the car as well, as the seats are made from hemp, and the carpet made from recycled plastic soda bottles.
The Pimp My Ride exhibit is free with general admission, and will be at the Valley Fair all weekend.
Other new attractions include a monkey show and exotic animal display.
