The Golden Valley Grizzlies are looking for a new football
coach, after head coach Steve Pinkston resigned Thursday
“Coach Pinkston resigned yesterday over philosophical
differences with the administration,” said Golden Valley Athletic Director
Chris Printz, who added that there were no immediate candidates to replace the
head football coach.
The fledgling team has yet to win a single Foothill League
game, suffering through three difficult seasons and a losing record in
preseason games.
“There was a difference of opinion regarding the direction
of the football program,” Printz explained. “I’m sure the team’s record had
something to do with it, but it was only one of many factors in his
resignation.”
”We’re thankful for Coach Pinkston’s three years of service and have a lot of
appreciation for what he’s put into the program,’ he concluded.
Printz said the search for a new head coach has
already begun, but no candidates have been named yet.
