“The Boy Scouts of America here in the Bill Hart District are excited about the Merit Badge Sponsorship relationship with Scratch. With over 2,500 Boy Scouts in the Santa Clarita Valley, being able to have access to a local indoor facility that specializes in working with young golfers will be an asset to all of our Cub Scout working on their Golf Belt Loop and Pin, Webelos working on their Sportsman Activity Pin, and the Boy Scouts who want to earn their Golfing Merit Badge,” said Jeff Prata, Bill Hart District Executive. “We look forward to working with Scratch in many projects, including forming Scout Leagues where the boys can compete against other Packs and Troops in a fun, safe, clean environment. We appreciate Scratch’s support of the local Scouting program.”

The check presentation will take place on Saturday, February 25th during a Blue and Gold Celebration with Cub Scout Pack 494, Boy Scout Troop 609, and Boy Scout Troop 303. The presentation ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m. at Mitchell Elementary School, Multipurpose Room, located at 16821 Goodvale Rd., Santa Clarita, CA 91387.

Scratch is a 12,000 square foot indoor golf center in Santa Clarita. Juniors come to Scratch after school and/or on weekends and practice the game of golf in the same manner that soccer, baseball and football are taught and learned. Adult programs range from beginner classes, open practice, advanced training sessions and evening leagues. The center features four distinct areas – putting, short game, fitness, and simulator room for full swing. In addition, the center is available for corporate events, fund raisers, group outings and meetings.

The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America—incorporated on Feb. 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916—is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. The Bill Hart District, which serves all of the Santa Clarita Valley, has over 2,500 scouts from ages 6 to 21 and is part of the over 2.7 million youth members in the United States.
