For every junior golfer who joins before September 8, Scratch will donate $10 to that student’s school – and for every 10 golfers who join from a school, Scratch will donate an additional $100.
In addition, every junior golfer who joins before September 8 will also get 10 percent off their membership.
“Scratch is proud to be a part of the Santa Clarita community and we would like to give back to the community by helping the local schools and their students through this challenging economic time,” said Scratch president and co-founder Greg Lumsden.
“Our school and parent groups and booster clubs area always seeking new, creative and successful programs that support our student activities and the program at Scratch fits that profile. Since they opened, they have made a concerted effort to be a contributing factor in our community,” said Gail Pinsker, Community Liaison Officer for the Hart School District and immediate past fundraising chair of the SCV PTA Council.
“As a parent who has seen plenty of school fundraisers, it is nice to see something unique. After a point, you feel bad asking grandparents or friends to buy the same old thing. All golfers who are looking to improve their games would be interested in Scratch anyway, so why not kick something back to the schools,” said May Villapando, parent of students at Santa Clarita Valley Christian and Our Lady of Perpetual Help schools.
Scratch is the first and only facility in the world where objective golf swing data is captured, analyzed and uploaded to a personal data file accessible via a golfer’s personalized webpage. This allows Scratch member to pinpoint the aspects of their game to work on the most. In addition to expert teachers and cutting-edge technology, Scratch offers a comprehensive physical training program.
Scratch is located at 25621 Hercules Street in Santa Clarita. Interested parents should contact Jonathan Hastings at 661-775-0578 or visit www.scratchjrgolf.com.
