Golf Tournament Raises Money For Seniors

Golftec13Riding on the heels of last year’s wildly successful event the SCV Senior Center Foundation will be holding their 2nd annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser.

The “Summer Showdown at the TPC” will be held on June 7, and features food, entertainment, contest holes, a live auction, and a raffle.  There will even be an opportunity for one golfer to try their hand at sinking a putt worth $10,000.

According to Foundation member John Lutz, who chairs the event, all proceeds go to benefit the SCV Senior Center.

“It’s all about celebrating the good golfer as well as the average golfer, and having a good time at a fundraiser,” said Lutz.

Last year’s event raised more than $20,000 for the SCV Senior Center.

The golf tournament will be in a scramble format, where everyone starts at every hole.

The tournament last year maxed out with 144 participants playing and even had others on a waiting list.

According to Lutz their event last year was the only charity tournament in the Santa Clarita Valley to max out on participants.

Participation costs range from $150 for an individual golfer to a Gold Sponsorship for $3000.   These fees include green fees, golf carts, continental breakfast, banquet appetizers and beverages, awards, prizes and trophies.
