Golfing To Help Local Boys And Girls

GolfballWhat could be better than an event at the Valencia Country Club?  Giving the proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley of course.  On August 29, the Annual Boys & Girls Club Golf Classic will feature a scramble format and limited field where everybody has a chance to win.

On the day of the tournament, registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and play begins at 11 a.m., with lunch and dinner included.  Golfers of all skill levels can participate.  Golfers sinking a “Hole-In-One” on certain tees could win a car and, as a tee prize, a $125 Oakley gift certificate will be given to every player in the field.

Tournament attendees can purchase a $100 raffle ticket for a chance to win 5 days and 4 nights for two golfers to play in a championship golf tournament at the Pebble Beach Resorts December 7-11.  Only 250 raffle tickets will be sold for this opportunity.

“This tournament support makes a tremendous difference for our local Boys & Girls Club,” said Lou Suarez, tournament co-chair, “It keeps the kids engaged in productive, life enriching activities and makes the SCV an even better place to live.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley serves more than 2,300 local youth from 7-17 at facilities in Newhall and Canyon Country.  Programs engage members in education and career exploration, the arts, sports, recreation and fitness, character and leadership development, and healthy life choices.
