Good Grades Could Equal New Car For Hart District Students

khts_schools_chalkboardOne lucky high school student from the Wm. S. Hart Union High School District will go home with a brand new Nissan Versa, following a random drawing program this Wednesday evening at College of the Canyons stadium.

The drawing is sponsored by Valencia Nissan in cooperation with the Hart School District and is open to Hart District students in the 10th through 12th grades who maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, have an attendance rate of at least 95 percent since October 7, 2009, and have received no out of school suspensions while enrolled in the Hart District.

In addition to the new Nissan, random drawings will be held for consolation prizes such as movie tickets, flash drives, gift cards, Dodger tickets and items, clothing, restaurant and amusement park coupons.

There are close to 5,000 students in the Hart District who qualify for the drawing, and all have been invited to attend the drawing. The winner must be present, and have a parent present if the winner is under 18. If a winner is not present, additional names will be pulled until a winner is declared.

This is the second year that Valencia Nissan and the Hart District have cooperated in the program, which is designed to give students an incentive for regular attendance and good grades. Eligible students (and their parents if under 18) need to bring an eligibility form provided by their schools to the COC stadium between 6 and 7:30 p.m. The grand prize drawing will be held at 7:45 p.m. sharp.
