Grapefruits Make For Slippery Commute On Southbound I-5 Wednesday Morning

khts_crime_chpThe breakfast bar was open on the southbound I-5 early Wednesday morning when a truck carrying hundreds of grapefruits flipped onto its side and dumped its load across several lanes of traffic.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer John Lutz, the accident was reported at 1:53 a.m. on the southbound I-5 just north of Parker Road.

The spilled grapefruits partially blocked two lanes of the southbound traffic and one lane of the northbound traffic, causing them to close down three lanes for several hours.
