Grenade Found In Valencia

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of a grenade found in a condominium complex at the 24100 block of Newhall Ranch Road on Thursday.

“An apartment was being cleaned out, and a grenade was seen inside the location, so airing on the side of safety, an Arson and Explosive team is investigating, according to Sgt. Sam Soehnel of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

The grenade is believed to be left behind from a previous tenant.

The building was evacuated as a safety precaution, Soehnel said. There is not believed to be any danger to residents in the area.

Units are still in the process of determining what the issue was,” Soehnel said.
