Group Sets Goal To Collect One Ton Of Food

Local food pantry to benefit just in time for Thanksgiving.

Three local businesses have teamed up to promote a major food drive in Santa Clarita dubbed “Fill the Pantry.” At Home magazine, KHTS AM-1220 and Consumers Furniture Gallery are asking residents to bring a bag (or more) of non-perishable food items to Consumers Furniture by November 8.

Organizers hope that they will be able to collect one ton of food, which they will donate to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. The items will then become a part of the giving in the days and weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. The Santa Clarita food pantry directly serves local residents who are in need.

Some of the most needed food items include:

  • Canned meat;
  • Canned beans;
  • Canned soup;
  • Peanut butter;
  • Dry milk;

Food donations can be made at Consumers Furniture Gallery – 26330 Citrus Street (between Magic Mountain Parkway and Valencia Blvd.)
