Junior High and High School students from throughout the William S. Hart Union High School District will perform as the District Honor Band, Saturday March 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart High School Auditorium on Newhall Avenue. Out of the 800 students who auditioned for a place in the band, about 175 students have been selected. The community is invited to attend, and tickets are $12 at the door.
The annual concert is directed by guest conductors such as university directors and prominent music educators. The guest conductors this year are Michael Stone, Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator for the Bakersfield City School District, and Dr. Mitch Fennell, Director of bands at CSU Fullerton.
