Casting the net wide, the Hart district school board will be acting locally but searching nationally for a successor to Superintendent Bob Lee…
The William S. Hart Union High School District voted unanimously to open up the superintendent position for a nationwide sweep and to seek a professional adviser to aid with the search.
“It’s probably the most important decision the school board makes,” said Steven Sturgeon, president of the board. “We are looking to have someone in place by June of 2005.”
For the past two months, the board has been meeting members of the community, as well as district employees, to discuss the direction of the district and future leadership needs.
Lee, 59, will be stepping down from his current position Aug. 1, 2005, after which he will become a part-time consultant. He’ll be aiding the district, working with state projects and developers.
