Part of the property set aside for Golden Valley High School is being sold to a home developer by the educational foundation that brokered the land deal, officials said Friday.
A nonprofit corporation, whose beneficiary is the William S. Hart Union High School District, is selling 28 acres of unused property near the school to Centex Homes. The developer plans to build 160 single-family homes on the site.
The Centex property sold for more than $14 million; some of that money is earmarked for performing arts centers at Canyon and Saugus high schools.
