May 10 – Sierra Vista Junior High spring choral concert – 7 p.m., multipurpose room. Admission $3 for students, $5 for adults.
May 10 – Valencia High School presents its spring band concert featuring the Symphonic Band, along with solo and small group performances – 7:30 p.m., Valencia Theatre. Admission, $5.
May 10-11 – Arroyo Seco Junior High will be staging the musical, “You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown” – 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
May 11 – Bowman High School hosts its annual day of the Poet and Artist. Reception and art show, 9:30 a.m.; poetry reading, 10:45 a.m.
May 17 – Rancho Pico Junior High spring concert featuring advanced, intermediate and beginning bands, orchestra, beginning and advanced choirs – 7 p.m., multipurpose room. Admission $2.
May 17 – Valencia High School Spring Concert, all choirs performing their festival pieces and honor choir soloists – 7 p.m., Valencia High School Theater. Tickets, $5.
May 19 – Canyon High School’s advanced theater class presents the musical “The Fantasticks” and a student-written play by Jessica Wendorff – Q Theatre.
May 22 – Canyon High School Spring Choral Concert – 7:30 p.m., La Mesa Junior High Multipurpose Room. General admission, $6; students with ASB card, $5; children 10 and under, free.
May 22 – Hart High School Spring Concert, featuring the Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble – 7:30 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Admission is free.
May 22-24 – Hart High School Spring Choral Concert. All choral groups will perform their competition sets with full costume changes and special effects. Also include solos, duets and group numbers from Broadway and contemporary artists, all singing and dancing – 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Tickets $10 for premium seating; $8 adults; $6 seniors and students.
May 22-25 – 19th annual Hart High School Student Art Show – Gym lobby during school hours through noon on May 25. More than 250 pieces of art including illustrations, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, electronic art, photography and featured work by the 2007 Visual Arts School to Career certificate recipients. The community is invited to attend.
May 23-24 – Placerita Theatre Arts presents “Captain Bree, Scourge of the Sea,” a comedy of pirate proportions – Tanner Hall. Wednesday show only, 7 p.m. – tickets $7. Dinner theatre show Thursday, 6 p.m. – tickets $15, reservations required. Tickets available in student store and attendance office.
May 24 – Sierra Vista Junior High School jazz band presents Café Night – 7:30 p.m., multipurpose room. $3 admission includes refreshments.
May 25 – Valencia High School spring jazz concert featuring the Concert Jazz Band and Viking Jazz Band – 7:30 p.m., Valencia Theatre. Admission, $5.
