Hart Superintendent Robert Lee to Retire

Last night, Hart School Superintendent Robert Lee announced he will finish his administrative career after ten years of superindendency with the Hart District, effective August 1, 2005. Lee will continue as superintendent between now and August 1, 2005.

After August 1, 2005, Lee will take on a modified role and continue working in the area of facilities and leadership development for a period of three years.

The purpose of Lee’s making his announcement this early vs. sometime in late spring is to allow the Governing Board time to dialogue with its employees and the community as to their views regarding the future direction of the District and the leadership needed to advance the District forward.

This early announcement will allow the Board time to create a selection process, create a plan for a successful transition between Lee and the new superintendent, and eliminate the possibility of the District’s leadership having to deal with an interim superintendency.
