Are Cancer Rates Rising In California And Should You Be Worried?

California is known as one of the healthiest states in America. The fact is that if you live in California you’re less likely to get cancer.

In fact, the numbers are quite significant. Since 1988, the incidence rate for all cancers has dropped by 15%, and if you look at the mortality rate that has dropped by 33% over the same period. In short, California has made great strides in the fight against cancer.

However, that doesn’t mean the problem has been solved. Not by a long shot.

Why Cancer Continues to Be a Huge Problem

Look at the above numbers and you might think California is a cancer-free zone. But the reality is that 59,000 Californians will die every year from all types of cancers. Some types of cancer are more problematic than others, such as colorectal cancer and mesothelioma.

Californian healthcare suffers from many of the same problems as the rest of the country. Not enough people are being screened early enough for cancer and many successful alternative therapies have still not been implemented within mainstream medicine.

Many cancers have seen a big fall, particularly lung cancer, but other cancers and new types of cancers are now becoming a major public health issue.

A Case Study with Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that doesn’t have a cure. It’s one of the most aggressive cancer types around. Many people diagnosed with it don’t survive for longer than 18 months.

Due to the latency period of mesothelioma, which can take about 40 years, the number of mesothelioma cases across the country is expected to rise.

It’s a problem that California is going to have to confront in the coming years. But there’s hope. People like Paul Kraus have used a range of alternative therapies, such as Vitamin C therapy, ozone therapy, and acupuncture, to prolong life.

And it’s worked because Paul has now survived for 21 years after his initial diagnosis.

If California is going to get to grips with the mesothelioma time bomb on the horizon, the state’s health authorities must broaden their horizons when it comes to alternative treatments.

Should You Be Worried?

The answer is not to panic and not to be worried. A cancer diagnosis isn’t an automatic death sentence. Paul Kraus has proven that it’s possible to survive for an exceptional period of time by taking a proactive approach to your treatment.

By making major lifestyle changes and looking at other avenues, it’s possible to enjoy a long and healthy life, even with an incurable form of the disease.

Last Word – What’s the Story in California?

California is a model of how a state should address cancer. Through making a series of legislative changes and raising public awareness, cancer rates are dropping for all types of cancers.

Do you believe that the cancer situation in California is getting better?
