Bridge To Home and Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, Inc. hosted a free “Bridge to Health Fair,” event, providing complimentary health and dental screenings for the Santa Clarita community.

Bridge to Home partnered with the nonprofit health center for the June 29 event at the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center in Newhall.
Event organizers invited medical and dental service providers to be available on-site to assist the community with healthcare basics and answer questions.
Guest from the Santa Clarita community enjoyed free resources and health screenings, including body-mass indexing, blood pressure checks, blood glucose checks, vision testing, dental screening, tuberculosis and STI testing, mental health counseling, substance use case management referral services and healthcare enrollment.
Philip Solomon, the chief executive officer of Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, joined forces with the nonprofit homeless services organization to provide critical services to the Santa Clarita Valley.
“We are proud to partner with Bridge To Home and pool our resources to help individuals and families access critical services needed for their health and well-being,” Solomon said. “Our mission, vision and values align and complement each other as we are committed to helping Santa Clarita’s most vulnerable”.
Bridge To Home provides a variety of community services with their all-inclusive, “housing first approach” for individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them transition from emergency to permanent housing, through case management, housing navigation, and medical clinics, according to Bridge To Home staff.
Chris Najarro, director of programs with Bridge To Home, wanted to contribute to improving the quality of life in Santa Clarita for all residents, by providing this event to the public.
“For the last 20 years Bridge to Home has helped thousands of individuals and families get back on track,” Najarro said. “The Bridge to Health Fair is one small part of that puzzle in our community, providing critical care services not just to our clients, but free to all local residents who may need healthcare interventions to improve their lives.”
