Some may say, ‘I may want to stay in own home until the day I pass.’ Well then what needs to be done to prepare for that?”

McNamara drew a comparison between this talk and when parents sit down with their teenagers to discuss where they want to go to college and what they’d like to major in.

“We’re mapping that journey,” he said. “Well let’s go to the other end of the timeline and with our parents and grandparents or whoever, the aging loved one. Let’s talk about it before it becomes an issue.”
