Botox and dysport are FDA approved to help patients achieve a younger, smoother skin appearance with no pain or downtime, DermaCure officials said.

“As we age, we lose elasticity in our skin,” said Dr. Craig Ingber, DermaCure’s owner and board certified facial plastic surgeon. “Because of this loss, over time repetitive frowning, squinting and smiling causes static lines to form above and between the brows, and ‘crow’s feet’ to form in the corners of the eyes.”

When injected into these areas the treatments cause a reduction of movement, Ingber said, which softens existing static lines and helps prevent the formation of new lines.

“Botox and dysport work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles,” he continued, adding that results last an average of three months.

Common side effects include headache, pinpoint bruising or redness at the injection site, according to DermaCure officials.

All injectables are administered by Ingber or his registered nurse Nicole Deacon.
