Instead of temporary solutions like shaving, waxing, tweezing or creams, laser hair removal can provide lasting hair reduction results in as little as five treatments, DermaCure officials said.DermaCure Offering Laser Hair Removal Using Cooling Technology

“A concentrated beam of light is aimed at the hair. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, damaging the follicle enough to retard future growth,” said Dr. Craig Ingber, DermaCure’s owner and board certified facial plastic surgeon.

DermaCure medical professionals use the Cutera CoolGlide Laser for hair removal, which cools and soothes as the handpiece glides along the skin.

“Its unique design, longer wavelength and innovative cooling technology allow for extremely effective and safe results,” Ingber said.

What’s known as the Zimmer Cooler is also used during treatment to further ease discomfort and protect the skin.

Laser hair removal can treat men and women of all skin types and tones, including tanned patients, Ingber continued, but relies on darker hair strands to serve as a target.

“Unfortunately red, blonde and grey hairs lack the pigment necessary to absorb the laser,” he said.

All hair removal is performed by Ingber or a registered nurse with 10 years of experience.
