Arthritis Relief, What Your Doctor CAN’T Tell You

Safe, Affordable, Natural, Effective Options for Lasting Arthritis Relief

By Dr. Thomas Polucki

Arthritis is inflammation in any number of joints in your body, and arthritis relief medications are a huge business. But many people can find lasting relief from arthritis without drugs. I’ve helped many of my patients do it.

After I’d helped a few of his patients achieve arthritis relief, a world-renowned rheumatologist recently asked me what “protocol” I use, because he saw amazing results in the patients we shared.

Conventional medicine focuses on treating the symptoms with anti-inflammatory medication, steroids and immune-suppressing chemotherapy.

But conventional medicine offers little to address the underlying contributing factors of arthritis:

  • Stress
  • Toxicity
  • Remembering Painful Experiences
  • Exercise
  • Sleep
  • Sub-clinical Spinal Trauma
  • Eating Habits
  • Diet

Medical doctors are under tremendous pressure to treat a symptom quickly.

Unless your medical doctor is in an integrated practice, you are on your own to research natural options to help resolve any health issue.

If you are not sure whether you should read on or not, here are the four reasons you should not go any further and one reason why you should.

8 Simple Steps to Get Un-STRESSED

STRESS

Most people feel they are under more stress now than ever.

And while some short-term stresses can make you stronger, chronic stress is the common factor in all of the top 5 killer diseases.

Major life events like a death or prolonged illness in the family can be devastating.

Whether you get stronger or weaker from a life event largely depends on the meaning you attach to these events.

Ongoing, unresolved issues are the next big stress factor in most people’s lives.

So if whatever it is that disturbs you, can be changed by you, change it.

If it can’t be changed by you, you need to accept it and forgive yourself for beating yourself up about it.

Focused, deep-belly breathing can be a powerful tool in managing daily stress.

Try this:

  • Get comfortable.
  • Drop your shoulders down and back.
  • Take as deep a breath as you can without moving your chest.
  • Your belly should expand a couple of inches every time you breathe in.
  • Take 10 deep breaths like that.

Feel better?

Reduce stress with focus and breathing and your joints will thank you.

TOXINS

As we age, our natural detoxification organs can become challenged.

Our lungs exchange carbon dioxide for oxygen.

COPD or emphysema chokes this pathway.

Our kidneys exchange ammonia for water.

Many people drink too little water because they want to avoid frequent bathroom trips at night.

Even mild dehydration concentrates inflammation.

Our bowels exchange cellular waste for nutrients.

Convenience foods rarely have enough roughage (raw-vegetable cellulose) to keep your bowels moving smoothly.

The more full of it you are, the more you are going to hurt.

Our liver filters, breaks down and rebuilds most substances that pass through it.

All medications tie up valuable resources in the liver, causing the organ to be less effective and eventually damaged.

There is a limit to what the body’s amazing detoxification systems can handle.

With thousands of new chemicals in our food, water and air, is it so hard to believe we could all benefit from some detoxification support?

REMEMBERING PAINFUL EXPERIENCES

It is easy to get caught up in negative emotions.

You get a boost of energy from the fight or flight hormones, but there is a toll to pay for getting addicted to focusing on the negative.

Before you know it, you push away the people who care about you and surround yourself with more negativity.

When we focus on the negative, it is hard to focus on the positive.

Toxic thoughts cause physical pain in your body.

The good news is it works the other way, too.

Every day when you wake up, go for a walk and start remembering all the most excellent feelings you have experienced in your life:

  • Moments of love
  • Moments of laughter
  • Moments of peace
  • Moments of desire
  • Moments of accomplishment

If you pre-condition yourself every morning with positive emotions, when negativity comes your way, you are less likely to engage.

EXERCISE

There are countless studies on the health benefits of exercise. But more IS NOT better.

More than 30 minutes of moderate exercise triggers an inflammatory response.

Current research shows there is a sweet spot where you get all of the benefit and little if any damage from exercise, and it’s probably less than you think.

Exercising just 20-30 minutes a day, depending on intensity, is all it takes.

SLEEP

Most Americans are sleep-deprived.

Sleep is the natural repair cycle and without enough sleep, you can’t repair from or prepare for stress.

Not all sleep is created equal.

The highest quality repair sleep occurs between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

If you are a fan of late-night TV, you may be contributing to why you don’t wake up feeling great.

When it comes to arthritis and sleep, every hour before midnight is worth two hours after.

SUB-CLINICAL SPINAL TRAUMA

Those chronic back and shoulder aches have been trying to get your attention.

If all you do is take anti-inflammatory pain meds and muscle relaxers, leaving the stress from stiff spinal segments causes inflammation chemicals to start flooding your system.

A measured, no twist/no crack approach to chiropractic can take a lot of stress from the whole system and free up more of your healing resources to help minimize arthritis pain.

EATING HABITS

Conflicting information about meal timing and size is common.

Every best-selling diet book has its own opinions. Currently, science is on the side of common sense.

Smaller meals stress you less.

Arthritis pain thrives on stress.

Consistent-persistent-conservative eating habits reduce arthritis pain.

When your fuel mix is right, your ideal ratio of carbs, fats and protein, you don’t have insatiable cravings or starve-and-binge behavior.

DIET

Your diet and supplements need to be right for you.

Unfortunately this fact is hard to mass market.

So most nutritional information is based on averages of groups of people.

Most “cookbook” diet and supplement recommendations fail to maintain relief after a few months.

The best nutritional advice is teaching you how to know, within an hour, if the food or supplement you just downed is doing your body any good or not.

Just by paying attention to a few subjective findings (how you feel)

For example, do you feel:

  • Tired or energized?
  • Hungry or satisfied?
  • Confused or creative?
  • Agitated or calm?

Ask yourself these questions about an hour after you eat and you will know, with certainty, whether what you ate is working for or against you.

This takes all the B.S. (bad science) out of nutritional advice.

If you want lasting arthritis relief, you’ll need to pay attention to diet.
