Reduce Arthritis Pain With Diet Changes, Not Diet Pills Or Painkillers

Avoiding foods that cause inflammation will help reduce arthritis pain, Santa Clarita Chiropractor / Functional Medicine Practitioner Dr. Thomas Polucki explains.

By Dr. Thomas Polucki

Suffering arthritis pain? Here are some things your medical doctor may not tell you.

Medication may reduce arthritis pain and inflammation. But at what price?

Over-the-counter pain and inflammation medicine is responsible for approximately 20,000 emergency room visits every year.

Why?

Because side effects of various prescription arthritis medication include heart attack, stroke, a type of AIDS, and/or cancer.

It’s right in the commercials: Ask your doctor if this is right for you.”

So instead of going straight to the painkillers, which just mask the pain and load up your body with toxic substances, how about addressing the cause or causes?

How about reducing or eliminating what’s causing your pain so you can kill the painkillers?

Arthritis Pain Is Not Just About Aging, It’s About Eating

One simple, natural way to get arthritis pain relief is to avoid eating foods that cause the inflammation.

Now, whether or not you choose mainstream medicine as your primary healthcare, wouldn’t it be helpful to know how to change your diet?

Absolutely.

But there are countless lists out there with many common “usual suspects” for arthritis pain. How can you tell what’s causing your inflammation?

  • A blood test?
  • Allergy testing?
  • Applied Kinesiology?

And what happens if you have sensitivities to everything?

  • Allergy shots?
  • Benadryl?
  • Plastic bubble?

Addressing the why and not just the what is the main difference between conventional and functional medicine.

I have great respect for most of my conventional colleagues, but they rarely have the time to get to the cause and they are excessively pressured to treat the symptom and move on.

If you need more from your doctor-patient relationship, maybe it’s time to add a functional doctor to your team.

Is it covered by my insurance?

Probably not, but it should be.

More and more people are increasingly dissatisfied with paying more each year for less medical coverage, and/or doctors who just prescribe a pill for your symptom, and then charge insurance companies more.

Of course, those increases in healthcare get passed on to you.

You can be like most Americans who pay more and get less than the healthiest 30 countries in the world.

We haven’t been in that group for the past 50 years.

I agree with you when you said that Arthritis Pain Is Not Just About Aging, It’s About Eating, most people they dont realize this, that Arthritis can be avoided by changing your eating habits and also changind your lifestyle, iam not saying you should change who you are but people should be careful with the type of food they eat because what you eat is what makes who you.
