Gilbertson and LeCornu Orthodontics has a brand new name: Embrace Your Smile Orthodontics, officials announced this week.

After adding Dr. Pete Weber to their team one year ago, the Santa Clarita orthodontist’s office recently made the decision to rebrand using their longtime slogan, “Embrace Your Smile.”

“We thought about adding my name to the practice name,” said Weber. “They’ve been using for years now, ‘Embrace Your Smile,’ so (we thought) maybe we could just call it Embrace Your Smile Orthodontics (as) the name of the whole practice to cover everything, so that’s what we’ve done.”

Weber, Dr. Megan LeCornu and Dr. Steven Gilbertson want the community to know that everything will remain the same apart from the rebranded new name, according to Weber.

“It’s not like a takeover or anything is changing — same team, same doctors,” Weber said. “We want to reassure people about that.”

Weber, LeCornu and Gilbertson all believe in taking a conservative approach when it comes to treatment plans, particularly with young children, Weber noted.

“The recommendation of the American Association of Orthodontists is about age seven when someone should have their first visit with us,” he said. “We’re very conservative, so there’s a lot of kids that come in around that age — 7, 8 — where we take our records, take a look at everything that’s going on, but a lot of them we just monitor their development. Just because you come in doesn’t mean you need something.”

However, some younger children do present with major problems that require early intervention, Weber added.

“Either one of those scenarios, it’s great to be with us early so we can keep an eye on those kids as they grow,” he said.

The team at Embrace Your Smile Orthodontics also believes in taking an individualized approach to each patient.

“We definitely don’t just paint anybody in any particular box,” Weber said. “The important thing is to understand where a patient is trying to go, how we can help them get there and then presenting options.”
