It’s that time of year when you need to roll up your sleeve and take a shot in the arm. In an effort to keep our community healthy, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital is offering free flu shots to adults 50 years of age and older or adults in a high risk category, while supplies last.
The free flu shot clinic will be held during the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber’s 27th Community Expo on Saturday, September 17, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex in Canyon Country, 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway.

The flu shot will help protect against three influenza viruses, including an H1N1 virus, an H3N2 virus, and the seasonal common flu.
In order to receive a free flu shot, adults must meet the following guidelines:
- age 50 years or older
- adults age 18 and older with a chronic medical conditions, weakened immune system, or muscle or nerve disorder
- adults who live with or care for people at high risk for influenza-related complications
- adults who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities
Flu shots will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, with 300 doses available. Participants will be required to sign a release form which includes side effects, allergies, and warning information.
