Blood collected at Henry Mayo is processed by the American Red Cross and dedicated to the hospital. That means that the blood is returned to the hospital for patient use.
All donors that participate will receive a $10 Visa gift card; admission to Madame Tussauds Hollywood Wax Museum; voucher for a free entrée at Wahoo’s Tacos; voucher for 50 percent off San Diego Padres Tickets; entrance into a raffle to receive travel and hotel accommodations to their choice of Cedar Point or Knott’s Berry Farm.
In addition to on-campus blood drives, the American Red Cross hosts drives throughout the community with dozens of businesses, schools, and community organizations.
The blood collected at these Hospital affiliate drives is also dedicated to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
For each unit of blood collected at these drives, the hospital receives a credit towards its blood purchases.
