Hospital Blood Drive Benefits Patients In SCV Community

heart_beatHenry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital invites the community to give the gift of life by donating blood during its blood drive on Thursday, June 16, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Henry Mayo/COC Clinical Education Center on the Hospital’s campus.

Imagine knowing that you may have made a difference between life and death for someone. One blood donation can save the lives of up to three people, and your donation may actually save the life of a friend, neighbor or family member.

Giving blood is simple, painless, and it takes less than one hour. Any healthy person age 17 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds, and who has not donated blood in the last 8 weeks, may be able to donate blood.

Henry Mayo Hospital partners with the American Red Cross to host six blood drives each year on the hospital campus. Blood collected at Henry Mayo is processed by the American Red Cross and dedicated to the hospital to benefit patients in our community.

To make an appointment, please call (661) 253-8888 or register online at redcrossblood.org and enter in sponsor code henrymayo. For more information about Henry Mayo blood drives or services, contact Laura Young (661) 253-8089.
